Photography Competition Terms & Conditions

Introduction

By participating in the competition you are agreeing to these competition terms and conditions. The competition is being run by CRiBS Charitable Trust of CRiBS Office, St Columba’s Boys’ School, Halcot Avenue, Bexleyheath, DA6 7QB.

How to Enter
-
The opening date for entries is 00:00:01am (BST) on Monday 13 March 2023. The closing date of the prize draw is 11:59:59am (BST) on Wednesday 18th October 2023. Entries received after this time will not be accepted.

All entries must be submitted using the competition Entry Form.

Payment may be paid in cash via the CRiBS office and by prior arrangement or via JustGiving

CRiBS Charitable Trust reserves the right to refuse entry, or refuse to award the prize to anyone in breach of these terms and conditions.

Eligibility to Enter

The adult competition is open to entrants aged 18 years and over. The junior competition is open to entrants aged 17 years and below. CRiBS Charitable Trust employees and associates are excluded from the draw.

By entering the competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and that you are eligible to receive any prizes that may be awarded to you.

There is a limit of four entries per person and the costs are detailed below:

Adult competition: £8.00 per entry

Junior competition: £5.00 per entry

Technical Eligibility
-
Entries should be no larger than 10MB and be at least 300dpi, and should be submitted as either JPEG or TIFF files with no watermarks, signatures or borders included.

Permitted digital adjustments include tone and contrast, cropping, burning, sharpening, dodging, noise reduction, minor cleaning work, HDR, stitched panoramas, and/or within-camera focus stacking using multiple exposure taken at the same location at the same time. Any adjustments MUST be reported within the description and should not misrepresent the reality of nature.

The addition or removal of any animals or parts of animals, plants, people, objects, etc. is not allowed.

Images must not be false-coloured.

The Prize
-
Winners will receive a 1:1 Photography Tutorial with professional photographer, Tony Jones of Oakhouse Photography.

The use of specific brands as prizes by CRiBS Charitable Trust does not imply any affiliation with or endorsement of such brands.

The prize is non-transferable and non-exchangeable, and no cash alternatives will be provided.

We reserve the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value if circumstances beyond our control require doing so.
-
The decisions on any aspect of the competition by CRiBS Charitable Trust are final and binding, and no correspondence will be entered into about them.

Winner Announcement
-
The winners will be chosen by a judging panel and will be notified via the email address provided during the week commencing 23rd October 2023.

CRiBS Charitable Trust will make two attempts to contact each winner via email.

If a winner does not respond to the emails informing them of their win within 14 days of the second email, they forfeit their right to the prize, and CRiBS Charitable Trust reserves the right to select and notify a new winner.

Delivery of the Prize

The winner will allow 14 days for the prize to be delivered, otherwise alternative collection or delivery arrangements can be made through mutual agreement.

Ownership of Competition Entries

Any entry must be your original work and it must not infringe the rights of third parties including copyright, trade mark, trade secrets, privacy, publicity, personal or proprietary rights. You agree to indemnify CRiBS Charitable Trust against any claim from any third party for any breach of this clause.

Full copyright title shall be retained by the author of any entry. By submitting your competition entry and any accompanying material (including any text, photographs, graphics, video or audio), you agree that CRiBS Charitable Trust may, but is not required to, make your entry available on its website www.cribsonline.org and any other media in connection with any publicity of the competition or otherwise. You agree to grant CRiBS Charitable Trust a non-exclusive, worldwide, irrevocable licence, for the full period of any intellectual property rights in the competition entry and any accompanying materials, to use, display, publish, transmit, copy, edit, alter, store, re-format and sub-licence the competition entry and any accompanying materials for any legitimate purposes, including, but not limited to, marketing, publicity, advertising, fundraising and presentations.

By submitting an entry, you agree to waive any moral rights contained in your entry.

For the avoidance of doubt, by submitting your entry you warrant that all persons featured in your entry have given you their express consent for their image to be used and, in the case of vulnerable adults or persons under 18 years of age, you warrant that you have obtained express consent from their parent(s) or legal guardian(s).

By submitting an entry, you warrant that no animals were harmed or manipulated in the making of the image.

Data Protection and Publicity

You agree that any personal information that you provide when entering the competition will be used by CRiBS Charitable Trust for the purposes of administering the competition and for the other purposes as specified in our Privacy Policy, which is available on our website.

If requested by CRiBS Charitable Trust, the winner agrees to release their first name or initials to any other competition participants.

The winner's first name or initials will be announced on CRiBS Charitable Trust's website and social media channels.

Limitation of Liability

CRiBS Charitable Trust accepts no liability for any damage, loss, injury, or disappointment suffered by any entrants as a result of participating in the competition or being selected for a prize.
​
General
-
The Photography Competition will be governed by English law and entrants to the prize draw submit to the jurisdiction of the English courts.
-
CRiBS Charitable Trust reserves the right, at any time and without prior notice, to cancel the competition or amend these terms and conditions.
